Just another day in L.A.

I wake up. I eat two tamales. I put on cologne. I am out the door.

Cruising along Northbound 110 I make my usual stop at the Harbor transit freeway off the imperial highway exit. 20 minutes later I am at the Blue line.
A few minutes later I get off at the San Pedro station to ride the DASH E and go to the Fashion District for the first time. While I wait for the DASH E I find a King Taco and some colorful street art

I got off on Maple street and headed to the Fashion District.
And then I saw this and had a little nostalgia - not for the actual unit- but all those games of samurai showdown and metal slug ( and I guess KOF )
And I left that place roamed around and found this - note the hotdog

Fashion District is a real lively place. And filled with Mexicans to the gills.
When I got back on the Metro at 7'th and Metro ( or Fig) I found these interesting characters on the train

Then, finally got to Union Station - up Olivera St. and on to Chinatown

I went to Chinatown and enjoyed some art, peace, and bbq pork buns and seasame seed buns with red bean inside.I was also harassed by some homeless people. fuck them.
All in all a good trip.

My new project

I have started something I hope will last forever.

The CSULB news twitter account and the CSULB twitter Facebook account.

I asked myself, how can I serve California State University, Long Beach the best way I can? While at the same time not straying far from my specialty?

I really don't remember how I came up with the idea for it, but now that the project has gone live with 11 followers on the twitter account and 65 friends on facebook - I don't have time to think about it.

Spending lots of time each day deciding what I should spotlight, Men's Basketball? Job Opportunities on campus? Student Government? Campus construction? - Then once I decide, I move in to phase 2 - research. Finding out events, talking to people, sending emails, endless googling - whatever it takes.

When I originally thought of a twitter news feed for CSULB, I realized very quickly that not many students use Twitter. So, by creating a facebook account, syncing the two together, I can broadcast the biggest voice.

It's important everyone at least has a chance of knowing what is happening on campus.

The motivation came from all the broken links, unfriendly websites, making everything a CSULB student would need to know, very hard to find, inaccessable and downright useless.

Check them out here.

the joy of blogging-

It's funny to see so many blogs.. artists, celebrities, news, teenagers, plants - and to even look back at my own blog.

As you flip through the pages of old posts.. the ups .. the downs... strangers get to know you in a strange personal level. Isn't that what the internet is all about?

I do love shamelessly plugging other things that I think deserve mention so here's a quick set of links-

http://laist.com/
- the "get out x-day" is my favorite feature and also helps me actually get out of torrance an do something.
